The link between the uninterruptible power supply and the IT components is the power distribution unit, in short: PDU.
In essence, the PDU is nothing more than a multiple socket, but due to its shape and robust design, it is particularly suitable for direct mounting on a rack-based basis.

PDUs are available in a modular form, so the IT components can be individually configured according to the number of slots as well as the shape of the connectors. This way, clean cabling can already be implemented on a rack basis.
There are various additional functions which are made possible by so-called intelligent power rails. For example, there are PDUs with voltage protection, IP connection, measuring function, message and alarm functions.
